Word on the street is that there are a few of you on here. It is time to show your true colours, and fly the nerd flag high.

Okay, prompted by my recent descent into the black hole of timewasting known as massively multiplayer online games, as well as the discussion today that took over Hulver's diary, I would like to invite all Husi denizens to a holiday online gaming party. With any luck, this could continue as a recurring event, but that will depend on whether there is enough interest and we have enough fun to justify it.

I started reading Ran Prieur a few years ago, when I was researching peak oil. He is unusual, but interesting, and he sometimes posts links to some fascinating articles, like the ones about eating road kill.

Today's link, an article on Alternet.org, is not as light, fluffy, and uplifting as other topics such as eating road kill. The question is asked, has the US passed the tipping point to fascism?

First bicycle commute of the year. Still a few patches of snow on the front lawn, but the roads are all bare and dry with sand on the shoulders. Didn't get killed by cagers. Yet.

Print Story Winner of Idiotic intro text of the week: The Globe and Mail.
What makes a suicide bomber tick?
Resorting to the use of mental patients to carry out recent Baghdad bombings suggests a moral bankruptcy.

Indeed. And would that be a mild suggestion, or a firm suggestion?
